For many fathers and mothers, there is surely no greater joy than to be able to see your own children grow up into well-adjusted adults who are not just ready to take on the world, but to succeed in it on their own. And when their kids are able to spread their wings and take flight, parents will typically feel like they can finally relax at ease.
Dishwasher in China gets dropped off to work in Bentley
But for one elderly woman in China, she had no qualms about keeping busy with her time by working as a dishwasher even in her golden years. However, she left social media users across the country surprised by how she arrived at work – in a full-sized luxury Bentley Mulsanne sedan!
A video of her being chauffeured to her workplace quickly spread like wildfire across the Internet, leaving many to speculate as to why she was still working such a physically demanding job when she could easily retire. According to local newspaper Sin Chew Daily, it was revealed that the senior citizen actually hails from a wealthy family, but chose to work as a dishwasher on the side as she felt bored of doing nothing at home all day!
What’s more, the restaurant owner who employed her affirmed that she wasn’t working for the money.

Doesn’t work for the money
In an Interview with Ju Zi Newspaper, the aunty mentioned that apart from being bored from not doing anything she says that ‘it feels weird’ if she didn’t have to wash dishes for a day. When asked about the Bentley, she revealed that her daughter was in fact the driver behind the wheel.
“She drives me to work and picks me up after I end my shift”, she said.

Following her story, many believe that the elderly woman must have worked very hard to support her family throughout her life, and despite being able to lead a slower pace of life now, was not accustomed to aimless leisure.
“I think this aunty has been working very hard her entire life. If you want someone who has worked her entire life to suddenly slow down, it would be difficult. I think this is good for her, at least she has something to look forward to.”

“My grandma used to be like that too. When she has got nothing going on, she’d start saying that her body hurts and what not, but when she has something to do, she’d forget about the pain and would work well. I feel like she’s afraid that she isn’t of value anymore.”
“Just because they have money doesn’t mean they don’t like to earn the money. Being able to earn your own money is also something to enjoy.”
“I think she can also consider working with charities. It can help her kill time and at the same time give back to the society.”
