At this point, we can all probably come to the consensus that our fellow abang and akak delivery rider have now formed the cornerstone of modern, convenient living as we know it. Whether it be getting a hot meal to our doorsteps as and when we need it, to delivering important parcels and documents, there rarely is an errand too small (or large) for them to accomplish.
And that’s without even mentioning the incredible acts of selflessness that so many of them have exhibited to others while on the clock too, such as escorting senior citizens across busy streets and delivering essential aid to flood victims!
FoodPanda delivery rider ties up snatch thief suspect
In that vein, one abang food delivery rider has recently caught the attention of netizens across the local social media space after he was seen helping out fellow civilians in dealing with a snatch thief. His exploits were highlighted through a clip that was uploaded by netizen bro.salah on the popular video sharing platform TikTok.
And while we can see that the snatch thief was successfully apprehended, what left many bystanders surprised was that a FoodPanda food delivery rider decided to take up the initiative and rope the thief down, effectively preventing him from escaping.
Using just a few deft movements, he managed to securely tie a length of rope around the thief’s ankles and appears to have already done the same to his wrists, incapacitating the man entirely.
“Police handcuffing a snatch thief: ❌
FoodPanda rider tying up a snatch thief: ✔️” the caption reads.
The incident was said to have taken place in the city of Miri, Sarawak.
Netizens heap on the praise
Predictably, netizens have taken to praising the rider for his efforts, with some amused by how nonchalant he appeared to be while tying the suspect up with a cigarette still dangling off the side of his mouth.
“The food delivery rider’s ambition must have been to become a policeman, but it didn’t come to fruition.”
“FoodPanda delivery riders can do anything. Great job!”
“Cash on delivery to prison, brother?”
