As Malaysians, we have plenty to be proud of our own country. And that comes as to no surprise, given our internationally renowned food culture, in addition to the rich smorgasbord of intermingling cultures and heritage that we all share regardless of gender, race, or creed. What’s more, our own local countrymen have also proven that we have what it takes to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the rest of the globe, whether it be in sports, entertainment, academics, or other fields.

In which case, Malaysia can add yet more feathers to its proverbial cap after it was recently announced by the U.S Embassy of Malaysia that two Malaysian youths have just graduated from the United States Navy Academy and United States Air Force Academy as part of the class of 2022!

Ms Janushaa Bala Krishnan Muthiah, who previously held the distinction of being the first ever Malaysian woman to gain admission into a U.S service academy, will now also bear the historic achievement of being the first ever Malaysian woman to graduate from the U.S Naval Academy as part of its 2022 graduating class.

Janushaa, who was previously an engineering student attached to the National Defence University (UPNM), had been pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering with the U.S Naval Academy, and is expected to take on a career as a fighter jet pilot. She was one of 15 candidates handpicked from over 150 countries selected to join the USNA.
