If there is a local music festival that most of us here in Malaysia have been most eagerly anticipating to take place, it would have to be the annual Good Vibes Festival. First held as a one-day coming together of youth culture and music back in 2013 that involved only four international acts, it has now grown to become one of the biggest names in local events.

However with the global pandemic throwing a wrench into live entertainment, Good Vibes organisers have also been left with no choice but to put the event on hold. This was until the debut of the Good Vibes Weekender spin-off that was held in Sunway Lagoon’s Surf Beach last year, featuring South Korean rapper and singer-songwriter CL, Hong Kong rapper and singer Jackson Wang, English alt-pop duo Oh Wonder, and many others.

This year around, event organisers will be taking the festival to the Sepang International Circuit come July between the 21st and 23rd, for a true weekend itinerary of live music with Good Vibes Fest 2023. As announced on the festival’s official Instagram page, this year’s lineup will be headlined by American rock band The Strokes, followed by English pop-rock band The 1975, as well as rapper The Kid LAROI from Down Under.

Other international acts slated to make an appearance include  Dermot Kennedy, Dhruv, DPR LIVE, DPR IAN, Giveon, Gryffin, Nx Worries (Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge), Peach Tree Rascals, Porter Robinson, RINI as well as Sabrina Carpenter.

And as a launchpad for many local and regional artists, Good Vibes 2023 will naturally also feature some of the cream of the crop from the Southeast Asian music scene. Expect performances from ALYPH, Blink, Lunadira, Talitha, FORCEPARKBOIS, Airliftz, Jovynn, Emo Night KL and Friends, The Filters, and JAIE.

However, the event teases that more acts are expected to be announced leading up to the event itself, so this line-up could potentially change at any time!

Ticket prices for Good Vibes Fest 2023 start from for RM788 (Phase 1), RM888 (Phase 2), RM988 (Phase 3). If you’re going in a group of five, you may consider purchasing the Squad Goals deal for RM4,190, which includes five passes. As for VIP passes, expect to cough up RM1,388 for the premium.

Ticket sales will begin at 11.00am sharp on February 22nd, 2023 and can be purchased through the event’s official website here.

Previous iterations of Good Vibes have hosted English pop star Dua Lipa, Cigarettes After Sex, Daniel Caesar, Lorde, Honne, and many others.
