Over the past decade, as diplomacy gifts to strengthen the bonds between recipient countries, China has been sending pandas over to different countries. As part of the 40th anniversary of bilateral ties between Malaysia and China, giant pandas Xing Xing and Liang Liang were loaned to Malaysia as part of a 10-year contract.
Zoo Negara prepares feast for giant pandas Xing Xing & Liang Liang, in conjunction of their 17th birthday!
Just recently, Zoo Negara has taken their excitement and joy onto their socials, sharing that they’ve prepared treats for the couple, in conjunction of their 17th birthday. In the post, Zoo Negara shared pictures of the furry giants enjoying a cake made with ice and topped with a selection of fruits!
In the caption they said,
“To our fluffiest couple, we wish you a wonderful 17th birthday! Stay healthy, playful and cute like always!”
The Zoo also took the opportunity to thank CCCKL as the organiser of their event, not forgetting the guest of honour and members of the public who headed over the zoo to celebrate the couple’s birthday. According to local newspaper Kosmo!, both Xin Xin and Liang Liang were born on August 23, 2006, in the Panda Wolong Center, Sichuan, China.
Subsequently, the pair was sent over to Malaysia from China in 2014 where they gave birth to three children, Nuan Nuan who was born on August 18, 2015, Yi Yi (14 Jan 2018) and Sheng Yi (May 30, 2021).
