Taiwanese eatery launches ramen with crocodile meat, sells it for RM225 per bowl, shocks netizens

Just recently, Taiwanese eateries have been taking their food creativity to the next level by creating dishes like durian ramen, frog ramen and even giant isopod ramen. Following this trend, an eatery in Yunlin, Taiwan has created a ramen that consists of a whole crocodile foot!

According to local newspaper China Press, it was reported that a ramen shop located in Yunlin has posted a post into a group on Facebook, notifying the group members that they’ve come up with a new item called, “Godzilla crocodile ramen”. The said bowl of ramen will be available in stores only and not available for takeaway and will be sold at $1,500TWD (RM225) per bowl.

Other than that, the bowl of ramen is only available reservation and will not be available if you walk in. The restaurant owner has also reminded those who wish to try the bowl of ramen that their reservation will only be made successfully once they receive a confirmation from the restaurant.

They also reminded patrons that those who would only order the bowl of ramen for the sake of taking pictures and not eating it would be charged an additional $100 TWD (RM15) for food wastage.

As seen in the picture, the bowl of hearty ramen includes the typical ingredients like baby corn, quail eggs, black fungus and lemon slices. But one thing that caught the attention of the public would definitely be the gigantic crocodile foot. The claws on the foot were not removed and this has caused sparked a debate among the netizens, here’s what some of them said:

“I’m just curious, are there really that many crocodiles for you to eat? Is this a four-legged lizard?

“I really don’t think I can eat it if I see it.”

“The texture of crocodile meat is similar to chicken meat, and it’s quite nutritious.”

“I heard that crocodiles are quite nutritious, I’ve not eaten it but would want to try if I have the chance. But the whole foot in the soup is actually quite scary.”
