It isn’t uncommon for companies to reward their employees for achieving certain milestones in their professional careers. Whether it be for hitting their sales targets or for their longstanding service to the organisation, these tokens are considered to be a way that the company can show their appreciation and recognition to the effort towards those who have helped contribute to their success.
Singapore restaurant group rewards long-service employees with Rolex watches
And for a group of employees who worked under Singapore-based restaurant conglomerate Paradise Group for a period of ten years or more, their commitment and continued dedication have been handsomely rewarded in kind with a truly generous gift — a watch from the luxury Swiss watchmaker, Rolex!
This came after the company held it’s annual dinner in lavish style on Monday (March 6th, 2023) at Marina Bay Sands Grand Ballroom that costed SGD $2 million (RM6,660,488.00) to organise, which they suitably dubbed ‘Glamorous Night 2023’. As reported by Singapore news outlet The Straits Times, the celebrations also coincided with the company celebrating its 14th anniversary and was attended by around 1,600 employees.
But the true highlight of the evening, beyond the group’s famous dishes, were the sight of tables lining the stage, decked with Rolex watches in the company’s signature green boxes.
It was explained that any employee who has worked with the company over a period of ten years was entitled to the Rolex watch, regardless of their position or rank. In total, 98 out of the 100 Rolex timepieces were given away that evening to well-deserved staff members. One food blogger who was also present that night shared more snaps on Chinese social media platform xiaohongshu.
Not the first time it has happened
They were among the 330 employees from the evening to be gifted with a token from the company, who also handed away other service awards to employees who have worked for five to 15 years with them. Some even walked away with a gold bar from Suisse!
What’s more, it was claimed that this isn’t the first time that the company had given away such lavish gifts, as it was said that previous instances were not publicised.
