Elected representatives working in positions of governance, as well as those in the line of civil duty, are expected to carry out their responsibilities with impartiality without bias. Yet issues surrounding allegations of corruption continue to dog many layers of public office, with instances of ‘duit kopi‘ being a common occurrence.

Sabah police officer allegedly caught on camera accepting bribe

One such incident was allegedly captured on camera, and has since gone viral after it was uploaded and widely shared over the local social media space. In the 16-second long clip, two police officers in uniform could be seen engaging in conversation with two men wearing black shirts in-front of a shoplot.

During the course of their chat, one of the men could then be seen approaching a police officer with an outstretched hand, as though offering him a handshake. However, he appears to be holding a small bundle, which was then surreptitiously passed over to the police officer as they shook hands.
