In this day and age, not a day goes by when we don’t read about how women are sexually harassed or worse still, assaulted in the most unthinkable circumstances. And in spite of continued efforts to raise awareness and prevent these nefarious and life-altering incidents from happening, many continue to walk the streets in fear of becoming another victim.

Female teacher catches peeping Tom in the act at Shah Alam Sports Complex toilet

Just recently, local police have said that they are now on a manhunt for a pervert who was last seen spying on a female teacher who was using the toilet at the National Sports Complex here in Bukit Jalil. According to local paper Utusan Malaysia, the incident had occurred last month on August 15th. At the time, the 32-year-old victim had been bringing students to the Shah Alam National Sports Complex to rehearse ahead of the National Day Parade that took place on August 31st.

Quoting regional police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd. Iqbal Ibrahim, the victim had noticed that she was being stalked by another man from the next cubicle as she was using the toilet.

“She could only make out the top of his head to his eyes. At the time, she was not holding on to any device that could have recorded the incident.” he explained.

CCTV video footage of the man escaping from the toilet was widely shared across local social media.

The caption in the video even went so far as to claim that the perpetrator would allegedly check the lines at the toilets before making his way in. Upon realising that she was being watched, the woman screamed, causing the man to immediately flee the scene of the crime.

She would later go on to file a police report over the incident the very next day.
