“My dad’s a driver”, Proud M’sian student celebrates children’s day by wearing her dad’s work uniform to school

A parent’s love knows no bounds. And this is apparent in a recent display of heartwarming events, where a Malaysian dad has decided to surprise his child during Children’s Day, by showing up at her school.

Following the video, he mentioned that his wife had told him about a Children’s Day celebration at their child’s school. However, what caught his attention was that the children were asked to dress up as their parents’ occupation. Without any hesitation, his child had decided to don his work uniform, making him feel touched.

Speaking to Wau Post, the father shared that he is currently working as a driver. With that said, him and his wife and child are currently doing long distance, due to work commitments.

“I work in Kuala Lumpur while my wife and child are back in our hometown”, he said.

“I’m not ashamed of my father”

Wanting to give his daughter a surprise, his wife had contacted their class teacher to make arrangements for him to drop by during her short sharing in class.

Proudly wearing the uniform her dad would wear to work, she was then invited to present a short introduction of what her father does at work. As she proudly shares her dad’s occupation, she caught a glimpse of her dad waiting at the door. Feeling emotional, she ran towards her father, embracing him with a hug.

“Thank you for being proud of abah, you’re my blessing. I remember when mom was pregnant with you, I managed to secure this job. I will continue to love our family”, he wrote,

As the video goes viral online, plenty of netizens have commented on the video and here’s what some of them said:

“My dad was a lorry driver and occasionally he would send us to school with his lorry. We weren’t ashamed of it, thank God we’re able to finish our tertiary education.”
