Achieving our dreams and goals is what everyone hopes for, no matter how big or small they may seem. However, one young man with a heart ailment may not live to see the day his aspirations come true. That is, not if we can do something about it.
M’sian SPM scorer in need of RM60k for heart surgery
Diagnosed with a serious congenital heart disease known as Tetralogy of Fallot, Khoo has endured the perils of his condition for all his life. At the tender age of one, he underwent his first heart surgery.
Fast forward eighteen years, he found himself back in the hospital on May 16th this year for a lifesaving second operation, which left him with a prominent, vertical scar on his chest. Unfortunately, this operation left Khoo with weakened heartbeats and a reduced heart rate.
Khoo’s now requires a pacemaker implantation surgery to save his life
Now, he requires another surgery to implant a pacemaker, which is critical for his survival. Hailing from a family of six, Khoo’s father works as a factory technician with limited income. On top of the hospitalization costs, supporting the family is already a challenge as it is.
Feeling both powerless and desperate, Khoo’s parents have approached Da Ai for aid, hoping that crowdfunding could save their beloved son’s life. “He is a good child bestowed upon me by God,” says Khoo’s mother, Tan Bee Yan.
He is not only academically gifted but also has been recognized for his artistic talents from a young age, amassing numerous art awards. A proficient chess player, Khoo was even honored as a model student during his primary school years and remains close to his teachers.
It’s unthinkable to see a promising child face such dire circumstances. Given the urgent nature of Khoo’s surgery, the charity organization implores the public to help save Khoo’s life by pouring in whatever contributions they can make.
