A mother’s love for their child is unconditional. With that said, they’d do almost anything to ensure that their child is able to get through life with their care. Just recently, a Malaysian single mother working as a security guard has gone viral for her optimism despite the hardships she has to endure.
M’sian single mother of 3 works as security guard to help sustain their livelihood
According to a TikTok video posted by @eiravender23, she shared that she’s working as a security guard in a school. Speaking to Wau Post, she shared that she has always been interested in becoming a security guard. With the encouragement of her late husband, she then decided to venture into the field. Since then, she’s been working as a security guard at a primary school for over 7 years.

As her husband passed away just a year ago, Siti found the stability in her job. She mentioned that the job allows her to sustain their livelihoods and take care of her kids.
“My kids are now 14, 10 and 7”, she said.
While she is content with her job and the ability to take care of her kids, she revealed that she has received comments from other people telling her that her job is ‘menial’.

“I wear my uniform with pride”, she mentioned, adding that while she never made the cut to become a police officer, she is still able to help ensure the safety and peace of the people.
She also said that she’d often get comments about people doubting her abilities and not taking her job seriously. And to that, Siti said that she knows what she’s doing and always takes her job seriously.
