According to local newspaper Kosmo!, at around noon, a distressed mother called her neighbours, prompting them to check on her two sons as she witnessed her 14-year-old choking her 9-year-old with his bare hands. Without hesitation, their neighbour went over to check on the condition and let out a terrified scream as she sees the young teen strangling his sibling.

“His brother was already lifeless and pale when I checked on them”, said the neighbour.

Qhurun, the neighbour, told the local mail that when she discovered the pair of siblings, the suspect seemed to be unaware that he was choking his brother and she had to pry his hands off of his brother. She revealed that the boys have two other siblings who were at school and the suspect had stayed home due to some eye issues.

When asked about the incident, she said that she is still quite shaken up on what happened as the teen has always been well mannered. However, Qhurun mentioned that the teen had been a victim of bullying recently and began displaying erratic behaviour. He was then sent for treatment and was said to have recovered from it.

Following the case, Christopher Patit, Melaka Tengah District police chief Assistant Commissioner mentioned that investigations are currently ongoing and that the suspect is under police custody. Subsequently, he urged for locals to not make any speculations on the incident to avoid jeopardising the case investigations or hurt the family victim.
