M’sian kids donate their Duit Raya to their neighbour after finding out that she lost her house to a fire

Malaysians are truly one of the kindest nations and this extends to children as well. Just recently, in a recent act of kindness and compassion, a group of Malaysian kids have decided to donate their Duit Raya to their neighbour who lost their house in a fire.

According to local newspaper China Press, 40-year-old Farida has lost her house located in Pasir Gudanf to a fire just days before the festive season. Learning about the incident, Mohd Khairul, an 11-year-old boy has decided to gather his friends to donate their Duit Raya to her neighbour. Gathering their resources, the group managed to raise a total of RM17 for their neighbour.

Receiving the Duit Raya from the children, Farida couldn’t help but feel touched by their gesture.

“It’s not about the amount but the gesture and kindness that matters”, emphasized Farida.

Speaking to the Chinese Mail, one of the children Mohd Laing shared that the act of giving was a value taught by his parents from young. Understanding the importance of helping those who are in need, he expressed how happy he was to be able to lend a helping hand.

Following that, Mohd Zafan and Tengku Shahir both shared that the same sentiments, adding that their desire to donate and help Farida stemmed from wanting to provide a sense of comfort and warmth.

It’s truly such a great sight to see how well these boys are brought up. We hope that through this, many Malaysians are inspired to do good and instill good values in society! Well done, boys!
