Speaking to Wau Post, burger seller Mohd Azroy shared that at 8:30pm, two customers in a bike came over to his stall to buy burgers. One of the customers who looked like he was in his 20s ordered two triple crispy burger sets, one special double venison burger, and one special double beef burger that costed RM48.

After their order was complete, his wife then told the man about the price, and he just took the burger and headed back to the motorcycle. The woman that came with him then headed over to the stall and ordered the same sets of burgers again.

“My wife then told her that the total along with their previous order would be RM96”, he said.

The woman acted like she was scanning the QR code displayed and then mentioned that she didn’t have enough money in her account. She mentioned to them that she needed to head back to retrieve some cash and then left their stall, leaving the second set of burgers at their stall.

After a brief moment, Azroy’s wife came to a realisation saying that they might’ve been scammed, and the customer is probably not returning. Unfortunately, to their dismay, the customer did not return, and he was relieved to find out that his wife had stopped him from making the second order shortly after they left.

Not their first rodeo

According to the video posted by Mohd Azroy, he revealed that the duo was said to have been doing this often and he didn’t expect to be their next target.

“They’ve been doing this to vendors nearby for the longest time, but we didn’t know we would be a victim as well”, he said.

He then urged for other vendors to be careful of such scam tactics so they wouldn’t have fallen for such a scam.
