Drive down along most streets in Malaysia and chances are, you will encounter rows of cars illegally double-parked. In fact, the habit has become so widespread that many of us may even chose to turn a blind eye to it. Only, that wasn’t the case for a man in Penang who has gone viral over local social media.
Lamborghini owner parks car illegally at bus stop, blocking OKU path
As reported by local newspaper Sin Chew Daily, the owner of a sleek black Lamborghini left his vehicle illegally parked at a bus stop, visibly blocking a walkway intended for persons with disabilities. It was alleged that he had gone over to an economy rice stall nearby for lunch at the time.
Shortly after, a man who was riding a bike came to a stop near the supercar, after noticing that it was in the way.
Appearing to be middle-aged, the man on the bicycle then proceeded to alight before going on the offense against the Lamborghini. In a state of apparent rage, he proceeded to gesture at the car while yelling intelligibly. But violence quickly spilled over when he raised a foot and kicked it against the hood of the expensive sportscar.
In a separate video, the man had apparently vented out his frustrations on the car’s side mirror as well, causing it to dangle at an awkward angle after it had been knocked and broken off from its stem.
Following the diatribe, the owner of the Lamborghini was alerted of the situation and hurried down to his car to assess the damage. He promptly contacted the police, before using a piece of rope to tie around his car’s damaged side mirror and driving away from the scene.
it was reported that the man seen damaging the Lambo had been detained over his furor, but was released on the same night.
While by no means is it right to take the law into your hands and damage another person’s property, many online have taken to praising the middle-aged man for teaching the Lamborghini driver a lesson.
“Serves the owner right, he thinks he can park anywhere he wants just because he drives a luxurious car.”
“This man has done something that many people want to do but has no courage to do.”
“I think both the owner and the destroyer should be punished. It is illegal for him to park in front of the bus stop as it creates a sense of inconvenience for the bus riders. But I don’t think it’s right to damage other people’s car, regardless of if they’re at fault.”
