Malaysian pride: M’sia becomes the 14th most visited country in the world for 2024

Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country known for its rich cultural diversity, stunning natural landscapes, and vibrant economy. With that said, Malaysia has instantly become a must-travel country to many tourists!

2024 rankings: M’sia becomes the 14th most visited country in the world

According to a survey carried out by Insider Monkey, it revealed the 35 most visited countries in the world for 2024. Following the ease of the pandemic restrictions, the World Economic Outlook Report has highlighted the important role of tourism in global economic recovery, projecting a 3.0% growth in 2023 and 2.9% in 2024.

Revealing the 35th most visited countries in the world, Malaysia was ranked 14th in the list, topping our neighboring countries, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam. Looking at the number of visiotrs, Malaysia has reported a total of 26.1 million tourists, while our neighboring countries reported a total of 15.1 million, 15.5 million and 18 million tourists respectively.

Additionally, the land of smiles, Thailand has been ranked as the 8th most visited country in the world for 2024, reporting over 39.5 million tourists. Topping the charts, the country that ranked 1st is France, bringing in over 89.4 million tourists, while Spain and the United States take over the second and third spot, garnering 83.7 million and 79.3 million respectively.
