According to the keeper of the Ruler’s seal, the Malaysia Sultans have elected Johor Sultan as the new king. With that said, Johor Sultan, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar has been appointed as the next Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

According to local newspaper MalayMail, the conference of the rulers was held yesterday (26 October). Following the conference, it was concluded that Johor Sultan would be the 17th Agong.
Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar is set to replace current Pahang ruler, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, whose term will end on 30 January 2024. Just last month, Johor Sultan announced that he was ready to fulfill his national duty to the country and his people.
As he replaces the Pahang Sultan to fulfill his national duties, Sultan Iskandar’s five-year reign will start from January 31, 2024. Other than that, Perak Ruler Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah has also been appointed as Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong. The Pahang ruler will also be fulfilling a five-year term, starting from January 31, 2024, as well.
