Malaysia is known for its plethora of food choices, diverse culture, stunning landscapes, with a mix of modernity and tradition. With that said, plenty of Malaysians as well as tourists love exploring what it has to offer. Just recently, a Malaysian named Anis has shared in a video that she was in Penang and craving for a traditional breakfast, roti bakar.
Kindhearted M’sian decided to support an uncle’s roti bakar business in Penang
Following her video, she mentioned that she wanted to satisfy her cravings but unfortunately the store she wanted to patronise had a long queue. As they were walking around, they came across this humble store with an uncle sitting inside, waiting for customers to support his business. Seeing that the uncle was waiting in the store, Anis and her friend decided to give this uncle a chance and decided to support his business.
“After ordering our food, we could see him taking his time to prepare the toast”, she said.
The uncle was seen spreading some kaya onto the toast before assembling the sandwich and cutting it in half, placing it onto a plate. He then walked slowly to their table and placed the toast down, smiling a little before walking away. And safe to say, not only did Anis enjoy her toast, but she also made the uncle’s day better by patronising his store.
Speaking to Wau Post, Anis shared that it was definitely worth it as she was able to see the uncle happy. As her video garners attention on TikTok, Anis then urged for the public to support the uncle’s business and asked them to be patient as the uncle is the only one working at the store.
For those who wish to support his store can locate him at:
Kaya Leong 453 Penang, Opposite Hutton Lane Roti Bakar.
