“I’m scared to tell my husband”, woman who sent her car for a wash mistakenly hears the price as RM78 instead of RM780

For many of those who own a car, it’s typical to send it in for a car wash and usually a simple wash would cost at least RM15. Add-ons are also available upon request or through recommendation and that would further increase the price of the wash. Just recently, a woman residing in Penang has shared her hilarious encounter when she sent her car in for a wash.

Woman mistakenly heard RM78 instead of RM780 for a car wash

In a video posted by a Vietnamese woman, she shared in her TikTok saying that she decided to send her car for a wash. As she sent her car for a wash, she admitted that she couldn’t understand what the staff was saying and decided to just go along with it. Following that, as she was about to pay, the boss then told her in Bahasa Melayu that it’s RM780. Upon reflecting, she then realised that they were telling her that they will include a polish and coating for her car.

Thinking that it was RM78, she took her wallet out and gave RM80 to the recipient. The boss then took the money and looked at woman, telling her again that it’s RM780. The woman was then confused as to what he meant and told him that she has paid him RM80 and that he should return the balance to her.

“The boss then told me again in English that it’s RM780 and that’s when I realised that I was the one who made a mistake”, she said laughing at her own silliness.

She then told the boss that she didn’t have enough cash to pay and promised to transfer the remaining RM700 to them, which they graciously allowed her to do so. Following her slight mix up she mentioned that she has yet to tell her husband about it as she thinks her husband would be too shocked to react.

“I’ve become broke again!”, she joked, while emphasising that although she felt like it was a hefty price to pay, she was still satisfied with the service she received and that it’s worth it as it’s the first deep cleaning she has given her car since she has bought it over 5 years ago.
