Not wasting his days sitting around, this 18-year-old high school graduate has decided to work in a restaurant while waiting for his SPM examination results. Holding on to his dad’s last words, the hardworking man was able to score amazing results, becoming one of the best students in his school.
Hardworking restaurant worker obtains 9A’s in his SPM examination
According to local newspaper Sinar Harian, Syazwan Said Rosnizam, a former student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Gambang has made his parents proud by obtaining 9A’s in his SPM examination. Sharing his journey, Syzwan mentioned that it was no easy feat especially after his dad’s passing.
“My dad passed away 2 years ago due to an infection”, he said.

Having to process grief and prepare for one of the most significant tests in his life, Syazwan revealed that his motivation came from his late father, as he remembers his advice to him. On top of that, the 18-year-old graduate is also determined to give his mother, Shaiza Nijat a good life after his dad’s passing.
“It’s not easy for my mom as she has to take up the role of being a breadwinner. I want to give her a good life”, he mentioned.

Remembering his late father’s last words, Syazwan mentioned that he and his father had a tight knit relationship. Despite them always having fun together, his dad would always advise him to study hard and strive for the best. Upon receiving his fantastic results, Syazwan thought about his late father and how he was one of his biggest motivators.
Currently working at Warung Nasi Kukus Mazenah, Jalan Teluk Sisek, Syazwan shared that his ‘secret’ to success is giving his 100% focus in his studies, especially when he is in class.
