Fresh Penang Nasi Kandar now available for M’sians to enjoy when on ETS train rides!

Nasi Kandar is a popular Malaysian dish that originated in Penang. This flavorful and hearty dish typically consists of steamed rice accompanied by a variety of side dishes and curries. Due to its widespread and popularity, Malaysians can find nearby local eateries that would serve Nasi Kandar!

Fresh Penang Nasi Kandar now available on ETS train rides!

According to KTMB‘s Facebook account, the first batch of Nasi Kandar was served to customers who were on the onboard ETS 9175 on Feb 1 at its cafe coach located at Coach C of the train. This program, known as “Nasi Kandar Original Dari Pulau Pinang” is actually a collaboration between KTMB ETS, NKH, Segi Seri Group, and Nasik Kandar Transporter.

Subsequently, customers who were on ETS trains EP9174, EP9175, EP9176 & EG9420 managed to seize their opportunity and enjoy the Nasi Kandar served on February 3. And from the success it has garnered the past few days, KTMB has shared a schedule regarding the schedules where Nasi Kandar is available. As of now, a date has yet to be announced on when the program will come to an end, therefore it is likely that the collaboration will continue to run until further notice.

In the post, it said:

“Selling at a first come, first serve basis, trains that will serve Nasi Kandar at its cafe coach would include those travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Butterworth (EP9174, EP9176, EG9322), Butterworth to Kuala Lumpur (EP9175, EP9179, EP9177), Kuala Lumpur to Padang Besar (EP9420) and Padang Besar to Kuala Lumpur (EP 9279).”

For those who will be travelling to Butterworth, Kuala Lumpur and Padang Besar, don’t miss out the opportunity to taste one of Penang’s most famous Nasi Kandar while on a train!
