Fire completely razes down shoe shop in The Mines shopping mall yesterday (Jan 15th), no injuries reported

Shoppers and those living around the vicinity of popular shopping centre The Mines in Seri Kembangan were in for a shock yesterday (January 15th, 2023) when plumes of dark smoke were spotted from one side of the building complex’s edifice. According to local newspaper The Star, this comes after a fire had broken out from a shoe store located inside the mall.

Images of the blaze were quick to spread over social media, with flames burning up canvas signage placed outside parts of the mall. According to director of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Selangor Datuk Norazam Khamis, his team had received a call regarding the incident at around 11.39am.

Promptly, firefighters from three different fire stations including Serdang Fire and Rescue Station, Bangi Fire and Rescue Station and Kajang Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene before arriving at 11.52am.

While the fire was eventually extinguished by 12.25pm, the shop itself located on the first floor was completely razed by the fire and suffered irreparable damage, as indicated by photos taken of the gutted interior.

With that said, no injuries were reported as a consequence of the ordeal. Local authorities are currently still investigating the cause of the fire, reports Berita Harian.
