FamilyMart stops selling alcoholic beverages since March, aiming to obtain halal cert
According to local newspaper Sin Chew Daily the Managing Director of QL Maxincome Sdn Bhd, Chia Lik Khai, has reported that Family Mart Malaysia has stopped selling alcoholic beverages since March. The motive behind this move is to assert further confidence onto their Muslim customers, as well as to align their aim in obtaining a halal cert from Jakim.

“We are relying on other products like our food and beverages to help with the sales reduction”, he said, further emphasising that the initiative to stop selling alcoholic beverages is also an attempt to help eliminate any encounters of non-halal products for the Muslim customers.
