By now, it’s certain that most people have used or heard of the app called WhatsApp. To date, this app remains as one of the most vital apps for many people as it helps deliver messages across almost in an instant. Over the years, the app has made many significant changes and they’ve recently added yet another function for the sake of convenience.

You can now edit your sent messages on WhatsApp!

Just over two months ago, WhatsApp has released an edit feature where its users can freely edit their typos and mistakes made in their sent messages. Subsequently, the feature was rolled out globally with all users being able to utilise the function.

To be able to use the edit feature, all you have to do is hold on to the message you sent until a list of options are displayed on your screen. The list displayed should include other features like reply, forward, copy and that’s where you’ll find the edit function. Then, all you have to do is click on the edit button and it will take you back to your chat box where you can amend your typos and mistakes!

Similar to other edit functions, once you’ve decided to edit your messages, an editing label will appear right next to the timestamp of the message sent.  However, it’s worth noting that the edit feature is only available for up to 15 minutes after the text has been sent.

Unlike some other apps or documents where the version history can be seen, the edit function that’s rolled out will only display the edited messages and not the prior version. Now, if you are unable to locate the feature, all you need to do is ensure that your app has been updated to its latest version!
