But as state elections were close, the bus tickets to her hometown Kampung Parit Che Ha, Kuala Terengganu was sold out. Left with little to no options, she decided to take a bus to Kuantan where her sibling came to pick her up and drove her back.

“When I reached the cemetery, it was already 4:30pm and my father was already buried after Zuhur prayers”, she said.

Heartbroken and devastated that she didn’t manage to see her father for the last time or bid goodbye, the most she could do was hug her father’s grave. Prior to her father’s passing, Nurul Akmal was aware of her father’s condition and had visited him at the neurological ward, where he was undergoing treatment.

She revealed to the Malay daily that the visit was the last time she ever saw her father and she’s heartbroken knowing that she would never see him again. She mentioned that she was very close to her dad because her mom had passed away 2 years ago.

Our deepest condolences to Nurul Akmal and her family, may her father rest in peace.
