A night to remember: Coldplay stuns M’sian crowd with simple pantun in Bahasa Malaysia

Just yesterday, Malaysians were thrilled to have attended the Famous British band Coldplay, in Stadium Bukit Jalil. It was reported that fans of Coldplay were seen lining up at the entrance as early as 7am, patiently waiting to enter the stadium. Shortly after, rain began pouring but it didn’t dampen any concert goers’ spirit.

Showing their sign of gratitude towards their Malaysian fans, the band then decided to dedicate a short yet simple pantun, earning cheers and praises from the crowd. During the concert, Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin said that they will be performing their first pantun on stage.

As he plays the piano, he recites,

Pergi kedai beli sayur, (heading to the store to buy vegetables)

masak tomyam resepi bonda, (cooking tomyam with mother’s recipe)

Coldplay sekarang di Kuala Lumpur, (Coldplay is now in Kuala Lumpur) 

payung lagu favourite anda.(singing to your favourite tunes.)

A night to remember!

Finishing the heartwarming pantun, the band once again thanked the fans for coming and gave them a heartwarming welcome to the concert. Following their concert, many netizens have uploaded footages of them reciting their pantun, garnering plenty of attention.
