After a weekend of heavy, sustained downpour over the weekend, multiple parts of West Malaysia, including heavily populated regions of the Klang Valley such as Puchong, Klang, and the Kuala Lumpur city centre, witnessed horrific flash floods. Major highways and building parking complexes were left submerged, causing cars to sustain heavy water damage.
Perodua to offer assistance to customers affected by the flood
Normally, the costs for these repairs can amount to become astronomical, but thankfully, Perodua car owners who have seen their vehicles damaged by the recent flooding may just have some of their financial burden lifted off their shoulders. The Malaysian car company best known for manufacturing the MyVi compact hatchback, had released a statement yesterday, vowing to offer assistance to their customers who were affected by the floods across West Malaysia.
Understanding the plight of those who own their cars at this point in time, the manufacturer has decided to offer a number of value-added services as well as discounts on spare parts to help bring down the potential cost of repairs for their vehicles. This is despite the fact that some of their own service centres have also been affected by the ongoing flood situation.
“Our customers are very important to us and this value-added services are provided to help relieve some of the burden our customers have to deal with during this disaster,” said Perodua President & Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad in a press statement released by the company.
Discounts on genuine parts, free car inspections, towing service rebates
As such, Perodua owners who have had their vehicles damaged by the floods are entitled to a few forms of assistance provided for by the company, which includes:
- A maximum of RM100 in towing claims at the nearest Perodua service centre. Terms and conditions apply.
- 20% discount off selected spare parts for those who have had their cars damaged by the floods. Parts include all electronics items, engine overhaul gaskets, vehicle seats, door trim and carpet, and will come with a manufacture’s waranty.
- Free vehicle inspections for cars that have been affected by the floods.
