Seeing that they provide a one-stop solution from the wedding venue to catering and any decor needed, they’ve decided to pay a deposit of RM3,000. Fast forward to a month before the wedding, the organiser told the couple that the menu that they’ve chosen is now unavailable, offering a new menu.

“We asked why there was a sudden change with the menu, and they told us that their previous vendor has stopped working with them”, he said.

Power outage for over 3 hours

With the invitations sent out, the couple decided to accept the change of menu. 3 days before their wedding, the organiser sent an invoice, requesting for them to pay the full amount prior to the reception. And without hesitation, they made the payment, along with several add-ons.

On the day of their wedding, as they had a garden wedding, the groom emphasised that it went smoothly, however as the guests were seated and ready to dine, the whole venue went pitch black! Some of their friends even asked if this was planned to which they they answered saying that it wasn’t a planned gimmick, and it was a power outage.

“One of our friends then quickly called the person in charge, but the first thing she asked was if we touched any of the power points”, he mentioned.

At this point, the power outage has lasted for over an hour and the person in charge only managed to find a foreign worker to help fix the issue. Unfortunately, they didn’t manage to fix the issue and the power outage lasted for over 3 hours.

Dining in the dark

Due to the power outage issue, all of their guest were forced to dine in the dark. As the air-conditioner was affected, it was apparent that many of the guests were sweating. Not being able to withstand the heat, over half the guests then took off.

“My wife and I were saddened at the fact that half our guests left”, adding that his wife couldn’t handle the stress, breaking down because her wedding is ruined.

After their wedding reception, Vince immediately texted the wedding organiser asking for an explanation as well as a viable solution to the disappointment faced. Unfortunately, even after 8 days the management has yet to give any response, leaving him no choice but to publicise the matter.

Speaking to Wau Post, Vince shared that the management has acknowledged his complaints but has yet to give a proper response in regard to his request for an online meeting.

Truly devastating to find out that their wedding reception has been ruined. We hope they’re able to resolve the matter quickly.
