Grandparent’s love knows no bounds, and this is apparent for a family in Terengganu as a grandpa has decided to prepare a gift for his beloved grandchildren.
M’sian grandfather spends 3 years building a ‘city’ in his backyard as a gift for his grandkids
According to local newspaper Berita Harian, Tuan Ludin Tuan Hadi from Kampung Lebak has built an entire ‘city’ at his backyard. Looking at the ‘city’ he built, it is equipped with an airport, a river and even a waterfall. Speaking to the Malay daily, the man shared that he took up this project back in 2020 during the movement control order.
“I started this project out of passion and now it’s finally complete”, he said.
When asked why he decided to take on such a project, he shared that he wanted his grandkids to have a reason and a gift every time they visited him. The town he built is also equipped with lights, which illuminates his backyard during the night.
Reduce, reuse, reconnect
“I realised that after building this ‘city’, my grandkids are very excited to come and visit”, he mentioned.
He shared that his grandkids would spend plenty of time outside at their backyard, observing and researching about the city he built. This passion project of his that took a mere RM1,000 to build has successfully help him bond with his grandkids, making it something to cherish.
The 67-year-old man also revealed that all the items he used to build the ‘city’ are from junkyard scraps as well as toys and other materials from the eco shop.
However, according to his wife, the city that was half completed was destroyed by a heavy flood back in 2021. Despite the setbacks, he was determined to rebuild the city again, making it into what it is today.
The city looks really cool and we’re sure his grandkids love them!
