In shocking news today, local news outlets have reported the passing of the Domestic trade and cost of living minister, Salahuddin Ayub. Salahuddin’s sudden passing has left his wife and six children in profound grieve. This is apparent as his daughter, Siti Fatihah confirmed the news of her father’s passing on Facebook.
Minister of Domestic trade & cost of living, Salahuddin Ayub passed away, aged 61
In her Facebook post, she said,
“With a heavy heart, we would like to inform that Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub took his last breath at 9.23pm on July 23, 2023.”
Prior to his passing, the domestic trade minister was rushed to the hospital on Friday night (21 July) after experiencing nausea and vomiting. He was later found to be suffering from a brain haemorrhage and underwent surgery at a hospital located in Alor Setar. Following that, local media BFM News reported that his surgery was a success but was admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU) for further monitoring.
According to the media statement released, it was said that the Pulai MP’s remains will be transported back to his mother’s house at Kampung Serkat (Kopi Tenggek) in Tanjung Piai, Johor. Following the news of his passing, prime minister Anwar Ibrahim expressed his condolences to his family on his socials.
