Children would normally have a heart of gold as they would like to help anyone as long as they’re able to. However, for this girl while her intentions are pure, it seems like her ‘execution plan’ to help her friends has landed her a stern yet educational warning from her father.
6yo M’sian girl takes her dad’s RM1,500 cash savings to help her friends
Just recently, news broke out that a 6-year-old girl has taken her father’s cash savings to help her friends who are in need. In a TikTok video posted by the girl’s father, Erwan Mohammad Nordinit, he revealed that he was shocked to find his cash savings have gone missing. Upon investigating, he found out that the ‘culprit’ was none other than his own daughter.
Speaking to Wau Post, Erwan shared that he needed the cash savings to buy ingredients for his Char Kuey Teow business. He said that he had the stack of cash tied up together and stored in a plastic bag. As his daughter had gotten a new bag, he thinks that she must’ve not known what to put in her bag and accidentally took the bag of cash.
“As I picked her up from school, she happily told me that she managed to help her friends, but it didn’t occur to me that she took the money”, he said.
Following that, as they were heading home, he decided to open her bag and was shocked to find out that there plenty of RM50 and RM100 notes laying inside. Feeling shocked, he quickly realised that the money he had lost must’ve been taken by his daughter.
Doesn’t want the money back as it’s a blessing to be able to help out others
After understanding the situation, he called the school to verify if any of his daughter’s classmates have received money from her daughter.
“The principal confirmed to me that some of my daughter’s classmates have gotten RM100, RM150 and RM200 from her”, he mentioned, saying that his daughter has given out RM900 in total.
He added that following his daughter’s actions, the parents have offered to return the money back to him, to which he politely declined. He said that it’s his blessing to be able to help others out, even though RM900 isn’t a small amount.
“I decided to not take the money back because there could be some who really need it”, he said.
While he didn’t mind that his daughter has given the money out, he decided to also record a short footage of him telling the story with his daughter looking sad and guilty. He explained that when they arrived home, he gave his daughter a stern warning not to do this again. However, he explained that he did not raise his voice at her as she could’ve decided to do so because she has seen him doing so previously.
It’s great to see that the girl’s parents are setting up a good example by offering help to those in need, but we hope the little girl learns from her mistake!
