Just over the weekend, Malaysians were distraught to find out that a young girl has been reported missing in Johor. Last spotted around 8:30pm at an event in Johor last Saturday, netizens were quick to share her news around, alerting others to be on a look out for her. On top of that, cash rewards were also offered by various agencies and influencers, in hopes that the little girl would be found and returned home.

With the power of the authorities and the quick widespread of the news, local English daily The Rakyat Post has reported that the girl has been found and is now in safe conditions.
Similarly, according to The Star, a press conference has been held to address the case of Albertine Leo. With that said, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, the Selangor Police Chief Comm has confirmed that the girls who was reportedly missing has been rescued.
“6-year-old Albertine Leo was rescued by the authorities at approximately 4am”, said the chief, adding that the 6-year-old child was found in a safe condition.

Following the news of her disappearance, the Johor contingent started an investigation looking for Albertine. Just yesterday, K9 units were also deployed in aid of the search. With investigation and the help of public information, two men and two women were arrested yesterday (22 July) in regard to the case.
The rescue operation this morning has also led to another arrest of a local man. Johor Police Chief, M Kumar has also reported that Albertine has been sent to a hospital for a routine checkup.
