Riding their old bikes, these 3 Malaysian uncles have made it their mission to challenge themselves and cycle all the way from Seremban to Johor! Despite facing setbacks and challenges, the trio managed to persevere, traveling over 300km to their destination!
3 M’sian uncles break own record by cycling from Seremban to Johor!
According to local newspaper Harian Metro, the trio, Mohd Ariff Bidin, 43; Mohamad Sarif Mohamed Yusuf, 45 dan Mohd Nasir Abd Wahab, 63 had used a total of 4 days to arrive in Johor through cycling. Sharing their achievements. the three of them are actually active members of a cycling club back home.
“In order to complete the ride, we had to cycle around 80 to 90km per day”, they said.
Recalling their journey for the past 4 days, the trio mentioned that they departed from Ampangan on Tuesday, entering Rembau before continuing their route to Melaka. After a night’s stay at the mosque in Cheng, they then headed to Serkam, stopping by at Muar, then reaching Batu Pahat.
“At this point we’ve already cycled over 140 to 160km”, wrote the Malay daily.
Instead of using road bikes which provides better performance, the trio was adamant in using their normal ‘old bikes’ as they wanted to set a personal record for themselves. On top of that, one of them shared that the bike that he used is about 70 years old and all its parts are still the original model.
Despite facing challenges like physical exhaustion, the trio remained persistent and was determined to complete the journey with their trusty old bikes.
“We want people to know that you don’t necessarily need a geared-up bike to travel distance. As long as you’re certain that your bike is safe and you’re mentally prepared, you can do it”, the said.
