Just over an hour ago, an IT disruption has broken out, where cybersecurity platform, CrowdStrike is down. According to newswire agency Bernama, this worldwide disruption has caused chaos, disrupting key industries like airlines, banks, media outlets and even hospitals.
Worldwide IT disruption causes chaos, long lines at airports seen, multiple M’sia businesses affected
Following the disruption, BBC on its X account has reported that long lines were seen at the airport and planes have been grounded. Local English Daily MalayMail has also updated a list of Malaysia based businesses that are affected.

- Air Asia – In their X account, the airline has revealed that its reservation and check-in system has been interrupted by the IT disruption. As they continue to navigate through this crisis, the airline is hoping for their customers patience and understanding.
- Firefly- As the disruption has yet to be solved, the airline company is currently facing a booking system outage. With that said, customers are now unable to book flights, check-in and manage their bookings.
- KTM Berhad – While restoration works are underway, the rail service provider is still experiencing disruptions on their ticketing services and customer service channels.
- KLIA Ekxpress- Tickets are unable to be purchased or booked online due to the disruption, customers are advised to purchase the tickets manually at their physical counters.
