EPF is an account set up by the government to help Malaysians save up for their retirement. Traditionally, Malaysians that are employed would have a portion of their money deducted and added into their account every month.

Just recently, KWSP has taken the news onto their social media, announcing that Malaysians can now self-contribute to their EPF account by using their debit card! This comes as good news to those who wish to contribute more, on top of the monthly deduction. According to an announcement by KWSP, it was said that members of KWSP can now use Mobile TEAM KWSP or visit any of the KWSP branches to make their contributions.

Members are allowed to head over to one of the counters in KWSP and mention that they’d like to make a self-contribution. After that, all they have to do is swipe their cards on the debit card machine.

However, it’s worth mentioning that the debit card self-contribution method is yet to be made available for the KWSP i-Akaun App. With that said, self-contributions can only be made through the online banking on the app. It’s encouraged that those who wish to make self-contributions through their debit card to head over to their nearest branch.
