If there is one thing that many of us miss most, it’s the prospect of travelling once again. After all, with repeated lockdowns and border closures preventing travel plans from turning into reality, much of the tourism industry has been brought down to it’s veritable knees. However with many countries including Malaysia gradually entering what is known as an endemic transition phase, there has never been a better time to draw up a getaway itinerary, even if it means just going out over the weekend like Genting.

Make your own bed & get a discount your hotel stay at Resorts World Hotel Genting

And if your destination in mind just so happens to be the ever popular Genting Highlands Resort, then you’d be glad to know that you can now enjoy a discount off your room reservation at the Resorts World Hotel, if you agree to do one simple household chore by yourself: tidying up your own bed.

Yes, that’s right. The hotel management is prepared to give customers a discount, on top of waiving their early check-in fees if they agree to make their own beds when booking their first stay at Resorts World Hotel in Genting. Known as the F.W.H package, here’s what it entails:

  1. F = Fix your own bed without calling room service to do it for you.
  2. W = Waived early-check in fees, so don’t worry about arriving at the hotel early.
  3. H = Hygienic stays that are in accordance with world-class standards.

Guests who select the F.W.H package will get to stay in one Standard Room at the hotel, and will be provided with a full set of fresh bedding linens inclusive of bed sheets, pillow cases, a duvet cover, and new toiletries to furnish their bedroom with on their own.

With that being said, those who wish to trade up for a properly made-up room will be charged according to the hotel’s normal rates. Or if you get a little tired of tidying up after yourself on your holiday, you could also get the hotel’s staff to make your bed for you for RM60. The promotion will be valid until this end of this year on December 31st 2022.

Netizen reactions have been split

Reactions from netizens however, appear to be pretty mixed with many wondering what would be the point in enjoying a vacation if you had to worry about menial chores.

“Soon, we’re going to need to clean up the entire hotel room ourselves before we can check in.”

Others have pointed to hygiene concerns by getting hotel guests to change used bedsheets.

“Other people can leave the rooms in disarray, and I’m the one who will have to clean-up after them and change the sheets. How is that even hygienic?”

Some have wondered if this package came about as a result of worker shortages.

“It looks like they’re facing a shortage of workers… or maybe they’re trying to skimp on these costs too.”
