To answer that problem, one Malaysian animal rescue group has come up with an innovative solution. Stray Tales Society (STS), an animal advocate group, has recently gone viral for their latest initiative.

Taking to their TikTok and Instagram, STS posted a video which shows volunteers setting up the unique contraption. “We’ve been working hard in the lab to prototype this self-feeder,” they write in their caption.

STS also thanked their supporters who contributed to the success of the project. Ever since its launch in Semenyih, the feeder has been able to sustain 10 to 15 dogs within a 3-day period!

Speaking to Wau Post, Stray Tales Society shared that their noble journey began about a year back. “While we just started publishing our stories in TikTok and Instagram, we’ve been rescuing, feeding and fostering for more than a year now!” They believe that voicing out through social media could trigger more public awareness.

The inspiration behind their self-feeder came alive when the society stumbled upon several strays. STS committed themselves to feed the strays warm cooked meals for a few months. “It takes quite a lot of time, so we thought of an idea to set up a self-feeder to help keep the strays sustained while we were away,” they said.

Seeing such a tremendous effort go into the project, it’s safe to say that the feeder has become a hit. Garnering widespread attention from users online, the response has been nothing short of positive.

So, how do we donate? Rest assured, STS is coming up with that very soon! Speaking to Wau Post, the organization teased that they will be rolling out a donations page for users to contribute.

“Our future stays true to our mission of changing tales, one rescue at a time,” they explain. While they are currently focused on certain parts of Malaysia, STS hopes to expand their reach. Not just geographically, but also in terms of the services they provide.
