Kuala Lumpur, 10 July 2023 – In celebration of the launch of the New Balance 1906 at JD Sports, New Balance called on US International and Juventus Footballer Tim Weah to engage three global artists to connect in Boston, home of New Balance, capturing their journey wearing the sleek new colourways of the shoe.
New Balance Launch 1906 Colourways, only available at JD Sports
Off the pitch Tim’s passion for music, culture and style has been well documented. A keen songwriter with his finger on the pulse, he was the ideal New Balance athlete to help pull together this global gathering of international talent to help celebrate life at the intersection of sport and culture with New Balance and JD.
- Hailed as one of the leading voices in British Rap, London’s Loyle Carner has three critically and commercially acclaimed albums that have propelled him into the global mainstream, sweeping the award circuit and gathering an army of loyal international fans along the way.
- From Washington D.C., rising superstar Redveil took a mid-sold out tour detour to fly into Boston to connect with the crew. The 19-year-old rap phenomenon has taken the US by storm with the release of his latest EP ‘Playing W / Fire’. Now the rapper, songwriter and producer has the rest of the world firmly in his sights.
- Last but by no means least, rounding off the trio of international talent is Sydney’s A.Girl. Championing her Māori roots through her music the multi-talented RnB singer, songwriter and rapper has a unique sound and style putting her firmly on the Australian musical map.
Answering Tim Weah’s call to action, together in Boston, the three artists immersed themselves in the vibrant culture and the iconic heritage of New Balance with the city, providing the perfect backdrop for this global celebration of the brand’s journey from 1906 to now. The 1906…A late 2000s runner, packed with period New Balance tech, is named after the year that the company was founded in Boston. In 2023, the 1906 was a wearable offering at the forefront of the 2000s aesthetic for the global trend driven consumer.
New Balance 1906 has launched four colourways: M1906RJG and M1906RGC for men, and M1906RJT and M1906RJL for women. The new colourways of the 1906 model will be available globally, at JD Sports stores, and online starting from 10 July 2023. To learn more about the New Balance 1906, please visit the website here.
