Moving into a new house is understandably a pretty exciting experience for many people. After all, you get to spend time in a brand-new environment while making it truly your own. But of course, that’s not to say that settling in doesn’t come without its fair share of challenges, such as the need to sort out your utilities and of course, moving as well as assembling new furniture.

M’sian netizen shares how TIME Internet contractors helped assemble her cabinet

These were the exact set of circumstances that local netizen Amanda faced when she took up residence in her new Bangsar apartment. As one can expect, she was caught amid the busy rush of setting everything up in her new home, which inevitably also included the modern-day lifeline: Internet connectivity.

“As someone who works from home all the time, I was researching and also asking different people what kind of Internet did they use, and most of them told me I should use TIME as it’s really good and also really affordable.”

This is especially crucial in Amanda’s case as she works remotely with a digital agency and depended on stable Internet to get through her work day. Deciding to go with a TIME Internet package, she then scheduled a date for the contractors to come to her home and have it installed.

Two men from the company eventually arrived at her home for the job, and immediately got around to installing her modem and router.

“The 2 installers, while they were setting up everything, they had a lot of waiting time. So they were just waiting around.

But while they were setting things up, I was trying to fix my cabinet.”

And much to her chagrin, the cabinet that Amanda had ordered online did not come with any tools for its assembly, and neither did she have any at her home. Left with little choice, she decided to try asking the contractors if they had a screwdriver that she could borrow.

Made no complaints about lending her a hand

Checking on the state of her cabinet, one of the contractors proceeded to help her screw down one section. But that was not all!

“I thought that was it, but then he went to take a look at the instructions and he was like ‘Oh, next one is this one.’ So one was working on the Internet, and the other one was helping me.

In the end, the other guy also got bored of waiting as well, and he got really interested in helping to build the cabinet, then he started to actually help as well!”

Describing the duo as ‘really helpful’, Amanda adds that all she had done throughout the entire process was handing them parts of the cabinet that needed to be assembled as both men got to work.

While she offered them both drinks and food, the men declined and refused any compensation for helping her out with her furniture. Thinking that she could at least spread the good word of their kindness, Amanda decided to share her experience online.

What she did not expect was for the story to spread, and eventually it even reached the ears of TIME Internet’s boss, who commended the men for going the extra mile.

In speaking with WauPost, Amanda said that she was prompted to share her positive experience in dealing with TIME Internet, after coming across a post on local Facebook group Subtle Malaysian Traits where a man claims that he was treated badly by a representative from the company after he was slapped with an additional charge for skipping out on his bill for three months.

“I didn’t post that story for clout, I was genuinely just shocked at how nice the TIME installer people were, and that they would actually help me build a whole cabinet. I mean they didn’t have to, and the best part is they didn’t ask for anything in return!”

Which goes to show that a little kindness can really make the world go round!
