First day of school can be especially daunting for young children as they have to learn to navigate a completely new environment on their own among strangers. And it is often not unusual to see them trying to find ways to get out of school, such as by faking illness or playing truant, as many adults may recall having done before in their own youth.
Little girl caught on camera trying to escape school by climbing out from gate
Recently, a TikTok video posted by netizen @_tineyeny, showed how a little girl in uniform had attempted a rather bold plan to escape from school on her very first day. In the video, the little girl was seen lingering close to a locked gate, before making up her mind to try her luck by climbing up the metal bars of the gate itself. In speaking with Wau Post, Tiney said that the school was actually located on the island of Pulau Tioman.
While she appears to have stumbled with some difficulty, the young student did eventually managed to find a way to not only climb, but squeeze her way through a small gap in the gate before trying to scurry on to freedom.
“I was observing her behaviour since the start and when I saw that she was attempting to climb over, I immediately filmed it”, recalled Tiney.
While she did initially manage to escape, a teacher was seen running towards the student’s direction while flagging down a school guard to help retrieve the little girl back to safety. Thankfully, and much to the young girl’s chagrin, the school guard managed to foil her plans of running away before carried her back into the school compound, holding on to her until she arrived to her class.
The video has since garnered much attention online, with netizens amused with the student’s boldness in attempting to sneak out of school.
“When you’re older, you’ll laugh at yourself when you see your own actions from when you’re younger.”
“The girl’s parents should keep this video and show this to her when she’s older.”
“This is what teachers have to face when the children are younger. Thankfully she was caught, if not it’ll be worrying.”
“I only started these kind of behaviour when I was in secondary school. She’s so young and she’s already doing this. You should watch this video again in another 10 years’ time!”
“Oh my, this kid is so young but she’s already so good at climbing over fences.”
“Thankfully she was caught”
“This is so cute!”
