As plenty of Malaysians celebrate Deepavali, otherwise known as the Festival of Lights, a recent display of kindness has touched the hearts of many. A Malaysian delivery rider was surprised to receive a red packet and drink from a kind family despite arriving at the wrong house.
M’sian delivery rider receives red packet & drink from kind man
According to a video posted by Vimal on TikTok, he shared that a delivery rider has mistakenly arrived at his house. As the delivery rider realises that it was the wrong house, he was prepared to leave, but was stopped by Vimal’s father.
Despite the slight mishap, Vimal’s father extended his kindness and offered the delivery rider a drink along with a Deepavali packet. Upon seeing the drink and money packet, the delivery rider was pleasantly surprised and got down from his bike to accept the kind offering.
Prior to offering the delivery a drink and the money packet, Vimal’s sister spoke to his father and told him that giving him a money packet was enough. However, their father refused and told them that the man must’ve been working very hard and is exhausted.
“He proceeded to offer the man a drink because he believes that the man has been working for long hours. It was already 11pm when he arrived at our place”, he said.
As his video continues to make waves online, plenty of netizens have commented on the video and here’s what some of them said:
“Please Malaysians, this is the life that we want live. Harmoniously between races.”
“It’s great to have such kind neighbours. Happy Deepavali to your family.”

@vimal_rajasingam Abang grab pun dapat Angpaw! Even though the Grab rider reached the wrong address (my house), my dad still offered him a drink and gave him a Deepavali Angpaw. In the end, he said, ‘Embrace kindness and love on this festival.’ ❤️ #malaysia#satumalaysia#grabfood#malaysiagrab#2023#melaka#trending#fyp #deepavali#deepavali2023#diwali
