As reported by local newspaper The New Straits Times, she was on her morning walk at Batu 4, Tandop, Alor Setar, Kedah when she was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle at around 6.30am. The culprit fled the scene of the accident and has yet to be identified.
41-year-old elder brother Kwong Chun said that he had been working in Butterworth when his neighbour had contacted him to inform him about his mother’s death. He adds that it was part of his mother’s routine to have an early morning walk.
“I immediately contacted my brother Kwong Loon to check on our mother, only to find her lying lifeless in a drain but no vehicle was spotted at the scene,” he told members of the media at the family’s Taman Bagan Jaya home.

Upon being sent to Sultanah Bahiyah (HSB) Hospital, a post-mortem was carried out on Goh’s body which revealed that she suffered from injuries to both her head and spine, and died as a result of severe head injuries.
Kota Setar district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Shukri Mat Akhir said that the case has now been classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987 for causing death through reckless driving or driving at dangerous speeds.
“Efforts are underway to locate eyewitnesses who saw the incident and to locate closed-circuit television (CCTV) recordings in the area,” he adds.
Both siblings are now urging members of the public who have any information in connection with their mother’s hit-and-run accident to come forward to assist in the investigation.
