The national dancer shares that other than Latin dance and rhythmic gymnastics, she is also a contemporary dancer. When asked about her favourite thing in Latin dancing, she mentioned that the technical part of the dance draws her in the most.

“I love that it’s unique, and a plus point about Latin is that it’s actually recognised by the Olympic Council Malaysia (OCM)”, she mentioned, adding that the atmosphere and environment she’s in during competitions made her feel confident.

Challenges and hardships

Just like everything else, Cherry shared that while she loves Latin dancing, there are still challenges that she’d have to overcome. For starters, she revealed that competitive Latin dancing is definitely financially taxing.

“As it’s a European dominated sport, the costings needed to head overseas as well as attending various classes from different coaches around the world”, she said.
