A local family who had been vacationing in Genting Highlands found themselves caught in a shocking moment, when the father of the family had abruptly stripped out of his clothes in a hotel lobby before the eyes of the public. According to Sin Chew Daily, a number of videos of the incident had circulated over local social media, showing how the man knelt next to his hapless wife and children.
Family had just arrived in Genting
It was understood that the 46-year-old man and his family had arrived at the Resorts World Genting hotel at 4.20pm yesterday (6th April 2022), with the intention of enjoying a holiday there. However as they walked passed the lobby, the man was then seen removing articles of his own clothing, and then getting down onto his knees. Leaning forwards with his head touching the floor, his wife was seen shouting him and trying to preserve his modesty by covering him up with his own clothes.
While members of the public were startled by the incident, one had made the quick decision to grab a towel before using it to cover him up.
The man was said to be under immense pressure
Local police then promptly rushed to the scene upon being alerted and instructed the man to put his clothes on. They then escorted him to a police station, before admitting him to Bentong Hospital.
Bentong police chief Superintendent Zaiham Bin Mohd Kahar said that preliminary investigations into the incident revealed that the man, who works as a sales assistant, had been under a lot of workplace pressure which led to him abruptly stripping in public.
He also adds that his situation had nothing to do with any prior gambling problems. The police are still currently awaiting a detailed report from the medical authorities in order to ascertain the root cause of the man’s erratic behaviour.
