Just a couple days earlier, Kuala Lumpur was ranked as one of the 18th Best Holiday Destinations worldwide in a survey. Ranking in 18th place out of 37 cities all over the world, Kuala Lumpur topped and came up a spot above many popular cities such as Hong Kong, Toronto and Abu Dhabi!
Kuala Lumpur ranked as world’s 10th trending destination!
Topping the charts once again, Malaysia’s capital city, Kuala Lumpur has just been listed as one of the trending hotspots for tourists to visit! Accumulating high volumes of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from their community over a 12-month period, Tripadvisor, a global popular online travel platform described Kuala Lumpur as the cultural hub of Malaysia.
“Kuala Lumpur is visually defined by the iconic Petronas Twin Towers which, at 88 stories high, are the tallest twin buildings in the world and a vision of modern architecture”, it wrote.
Other than offering modern architecture and skyscrapers, the city is also filled with a blend of traditional elements. For example, Sri Mahamariamman temple is a significant and historic Hindu temple that’s dated back to 1873. It is one of the oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur and has undergone several renovations and enhancements over the years.
In addition to that, the global travel platform also highlighted the joys of strolling through markets like the central market. Filled with handicrafts, small businesses and minor haggling, it’s definitely a joyful experience!
Looking at the top 10 rankings, 8 out of 10 destinations were located in Asia, and here are the top 10 destinations voted as the best of the best:

- Seoul, South Korea
- Halong Bay, Vietnam
- Palawan Island, the Philippines
- Sapa, Vietnam
- Bogota, Colombia
- Pattaya, Thailand
- Alajuela, Costa Rica
- Phnom Penh, Cambodia
