In shocking news today, Korean media outlets have reported that a member of a Korean boyband had passed away. The news of his passing was first reported by local Korean media and subsequently, the group’s record label, Fasntagio, then confirmed his passing in a statement released on their socials.
Korean boyband member Moonbin dies at aged 25
“On April 19, Astro member Moon Bin unexpectedly left our world and became a star in the sky”, said their record label Fantagio in a statement.
Citing the police report, Soompi has revealed that at 8:10pm, Seoul Gangnam police station was alerted that Moonbin has been found dead in his residence by his manager. Initial investigations have suspected that the fellow K-pop boyband member had taken his own life. Authorities then added onto the statement saying that an autopsy may be conducted to determine the actual cause of death.
Fantagio has also revealed that as per the request of Moonbin’s family, his funeral will be held as quietly as possible. Following that, they’ve also kindly asked the fans and all relevant parties to refrain from speculations regarding Moonbin’s death.
Prior to Moonbin’s passing, he was scheduled to perform at Dream Concert, as part of the Astro subgroup, Moonbin and Sanha. Moonbin had joined the record label Fantagio’s trainee programme at a young age and was an actor and model prior to debuting as one of the members in Astro back in 2016.
