Not long ago, Arnie a Sabahan STPM high scorer has made headlines as her father had no choice but to resort into borrowing money from their neighbours to attend her graduation.
M’sian STPM high scorer vows to not give up despite not receiving the course she wanted
As the story continues to unfold, she has shared that she’s gotten an offer to study in University Malaysia Sabah as a Social Sciences (Geography) student. Following her journey, local newspaper NST reported that Arnie’s interest and passion has always lied in teaching. As she completed her STPM studies, she was hoping to get into a teaching course in Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) but did not get in.
When asked if she made appeals to get the course she wanted, Arnie shared that she did not do so.

“I didn’t appeal and decided to just go along with the course. After I’m done with my degree, I will take up a diploma in teaching for degree students”, she said.
Other than that, Arnie was also one of the ten STPM students who were awarded with a scholarship from Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor at Menara Kinabalu.
Hopeful that her academic journey will go smoothly, she expressed her joy and gratitude in receiving the scholarship. Upon receiving the scholarship, Arnie also vowed that she would do her best and not give up on her dream, despite not getting the course she wanted.
