As the cost-of-living rises, plenty of Malaysians have been struggling, living from paycheck to paycheck. Just recently, content creator, Abu Hurairah has decided to help out a Chinese man after seeing him only filling up his car petrol for RM3.
M’sian man touched to find out that a stranger has paid for his petrol
Sharing the story, Abu mentioned that he was on the way home after a long day. Realising that his petrol was running out, he then decided to head over to the nearest petrol station nearing the toll at Jalan Duta. After parking his car at one of the booths, he then headed towards counter, where he encountered another man paying for his petrol.
“I only have RM3 cash, can I pay another RM10 with my card?”, asked the man.

The storekeeper then agreed to let him pay with his card, however despite multiple tries, the attempts failed. Asking the storekeeper as to why his transaction failed despite having RM18 in his account, the storekeeper answered saying he had no idea why. Witnessing the interaction, he observed the man and realised that he looked frantic, as if he faced an emergency.
At the end, the man only paid RM3 to fill up his gas tank and walked out. Feeling sympathy for the man, he rushed out and spoke to the man saying,
“Hey, can I help you out with the petrol?”
“I don’t expect any returns, I just want to help.”
Shocked at his request, the man asked him how he wants to help him, to which Abu replied saying he would pay for his petrol, adding that RM3 is not enough for him to fill up his tank. Sharing his struggles, the man revealed that he has an emergency to attend to, where he has to rush back to Tanjung Malim.
“He kept apologising but I just told him to open up his gas tank so I could fill it up for him”, said Abu.

Without any hesitation, Abu filled his tank to the brim, and walked away. Upon checking, he realised that Abu had given him a full tank and was shocked. He ran towards Abu frantically, asking for Abu’s contact number or bank details so he could pay him back as he receives his salary.
Patting him on the shoulder, he then reassured the man saying that it’s his blessing to be able to help others. Still in disbelief the man shared that despite him asking for help from his friends, none of them were willing to help him. Before parting ways, Abu then told the man that they could keep in contact.
