Did you know that Tesla’s largest Supercharging station in Southeast Asia is in Malaysia?

Just over 8 months ago, Tesla has successfully launched its car models in Malaysia. Following their debut in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur back in July, Supercharger stations were spotted in the mall, sparking conversations between Malaysia.

With that said, according to local newspaper NST, Malaysia now holds Tesla’s largest Supercharging station in Southeast Asia! Along with its collaboration with Gamuda Land, the supercharging station is located at Gamuda Cove. Being the largest supercharging station, it offers 6 Superchargers and 18 Destination Chargers!

Available twenty-four seven, the Supercharging station would charge a fee of RM1.25 per kWh and idle fee could go up to RM4 per-minute, when the stations are 100% in use. Emphasizing on convenience, the payments for the Supercharging station can be made through the Tesla app.

“You can also navigate, monitor and check the charging status as well as availability of the charging ports”, it wrote.

Dedicated to build more charging stations

The collaboration between the two companies are definitely significant as it enhances the accessibility and convenience for electric vehicle owners in the area. Following the collaboration, Tesla has also announced that they will be building more charging infrastructures to help facilitate EV owners.

In an attempt to also support those who are traveling in between Malaysia and Singapore, the American EV company is dedicated to expanding the Supercharging station to Singapore, with a total of 11 Supercharging stations and 9 Destination charging stations.

As of now, Tesla has opened 7 Supercharging stations consisting of 36 chargers and 9 Destination Charging stations which consists 55 chargers in Malaysia. Plans for more charging stations are in progress and will likely be operational in the coming months.
